The Orlando Concealed Carry Class
A concealed carry permit is a decision, not a transaction. USS Academy has taught the Orlando concealed carry class for 27 years and trained more than 29,000 Florida residents to legally and responsibly carry a firearm. Every class is in-person. Every class includes live-fire. Every student leaves with a state-approved Certificate of Completion the same day.
The class covers the complete Florida legal framework, firearm safety and handling, live-fire qualification, and the practical thinking required to carry responsibly in daily life. It is built for students who are just starting out and for students who have been shooting for years and finally need the certified class to submit their permit application.

First-Time Shooters to Veteran Carriers
Every concealed carry class runs with a mix of experience levels. Some students arrive having never held a firearm. Some have been shooting since they were teenagers. Our instructors teach to the room — and the class is structured so that the beginner and the veteran both leave with something they didn't have that morning.
Women make up a significant portion of our concealed carry students, and we regularly run sessions with female-led instruction. Military veterans and law enforcement officers take the class to fulfill Florida's training requirement even though their handling skills already exceed the standard — the certificate is what the state asks for, and we issue it the same day.

Where, When, and What to Bring
Location: Classes are held at USS Academy's primary Orlando-area partner range, 595 Donovan Crews Road, Saint Cloud, FL 34773, approximately 30 minutes south of downtown Orlando. Additional Orlando-area partner ranges are activated for capacity and seasonal demand.
Duration: Plan on 4 to 5 hours including classroom, safety brief, live-fire qualification, and certificate issuance.
Scheduling: Classes run weekly on weekends and select weekdays. See the calendar for live dates. Private and group sessions are available for 6 or more students.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is concealed carry legal in Florida?
Yes. Florida issues Concealed Weapons Permits through the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. You must meet age and legal eligibility requirements and complete a certified training course that includes live-fire.
Does the concealed carry class include range time?
Yes. Every USS Academy concealed carry class includes live-fire range qualification under instructor supervision. Classroom-only courses do not satisfy the Florida training requirement.
How long is the concealed carry class?
Most concealed carry classes run 4 to 5 hours including classroom instruction, range safety brief, live-fire qualification, and certificate issuance.
Can I carry in other states with a Florida permit?
Florida has reciprocity agreements with many states but not all. We cover reciprocity, non-reciprocal states, and the legal pitfalls of traveling with a firearm during the classroom session.
Can beginners take this class?
Yes. The concealed carry class is designed to welcome first-time shooters alongside experienced students. Instructors teach to the range of experience in the room.
What if I fail the qualification?
Students who do not pass the initial qualification receive one-on-one coaching and a repeat attempt. Very few students require a second attempt.
