A Concealed Carry Class Built Around You

Learning to carry is a personal decision. For many women, it is a decision made after a specific moment — a news story, a divorce, a neighbor's break-in, a sense that the world is no longer a place where trusting other people to protect you is enough. USS Academy's women's concealed carry class in Orlando is built for that reality. We teach the legal framework, the safety fundamentals, the handling, and the range qualification — but we teach them in a way that respects where each student starts and how she wants to learn.

We have trained thousands of women through USS Academy's programs over 27 years. Many of our sessions run with a majority of female students. Select sessions run as women-only with female-led instruction. Every session is designed so that the woman in the room who has never held a firearm walks out at the end of the day with a state-approved Certificate of Completion, a working understanding of her firearm, and confidence she did not have that morning.

Legal Foundation and Range Skill

The women's concealed carry class covers the same Florida state curriculum as every USS Academy CWP course — because the state requirement is the state requirement — but the delivery is structured around a supportive, non-intimidating learning environment.

Florida Law

Statute 790, Statute 776 justifiable use of force, reciprocity, carry zones, prohibited places, castle doctrine.

Firearm Safety

Four universal rules, safe storage, vehicle transport, family-in-home and children-in-home considerations.

Handling & Mechanics

Grip, stance, sight alignment, trigger control, reholstering — taught patiently, without intimidation.

Carry Options for Women

Holster placement considerations, off-body carry pros and cons, clothing choices that support concealment.

Live-Fire Qualification

Instructor-supervised live-fire on a licensed range. State-required minimum competency documented.

Permit Application

How to submit your Florida CWP application to FDACS or a county tax collector's office.

Supportive by Design, Not by Accident

The difference between a class that welcomes women and a class that merely allows women is structural. At USS Academy, the class is structurally built to prioritize the comfort of the first-time female student. That is not a marketing line — it is a set of operating decisions: capped class sizes, mixed or women-only delivery, female-led sessions, patient instruction, and range supervision that treats every student as a beginner deserving of care.

The women we teach are first-time shooters, daughters taking the class after watching their mother go through it, spouses enrolling with partners, single women making a deliberate decision about their own safety, senior women reclaiming agency in later life, and professionals who spend time in public-facing roles. Every one of them deserves instruction that treats her decision seriously.
