Florida's Statute 790.06(2)(h) training requirement specifies what must be covered, not how many days it must take. USS Academy's one-day model delivers the full state-required content in a single efficient training day: classroom instruction in the morning (Florida law, safety fundamentals, handling, scenario awareness), range safety brief and live-fire qualification mid-day to mid-afternoon, and certificate issuance before you leave.

Every class is in-person. Every class with a CWP component includes live-fire range qualification. Every class is taught by certified instructors with real credentials and operational field experience.

Our instructor roster includes Law Enforcement Firearms Instructors, U.S. Marine Corps instructors, NRA Instructors, USCCA Instructors, and Florida Class K License holders. Classes are structured to serve students at every experience level, from first-time shooters through experienced carriers and veterans. Students leave with the skills, knowledge, and, where applicable, state-approved certification they need.

Designed for Every Learner

USS Academy programs are built for every learner. First-time shooters enroll regularly and are taught patiently. Experienced gun owners enroll because they need the formal state-required certificate for their Florida CWL application. Military veterans and law enforcement officers enroll to meet Florida's specific certification requirement. Families enroll together, couples enroll together, and friend groups and workplace colleagues regularly share a class. Group pricing applies at 6 or more students, and private group sessions can be scheduled for 10 or more.

What to Expect on Class Day

Location: Classes are held at USS Academy's primary partner range, 595 Donovan Crews Road, Saint Cloud, FL 34773. Additional Orlando-area partner ranges activate seasonally for capacity.

Duration: 4 to 5 hours including classroom, safety brief, live-fire qualification, and certificate issuance.

What to Bring: Valid photo ID. Your own handgun and ammunition (rental available on request). Eye and ear protection (loaners available). Water, closed-toe shoes, sleeved shirt.
